Resolution accountability squad
Turns out I’m not the only one who gets overwhelmed by the whole “new year, new me” pressure. Carmen texted the group last week suggesting we actually sit down together and figure out what we want from 2015 instead of just winging it like usual.

Resolution accountability squad
So here we are on New Year’s Day, sprawled across my living room floor with notebooks and way too much coffee, actually talking through our goals instead of just declaring them and hoping for the best. Sarah’s organizing hers by categories (obviously), Carmen’s drawing little charts for her training plan, and Jake keeps erasing things because he “wants to be realistic this time.” Michelle brought color-coded pens because she’s Michelle, and Alex is taking notes on everyone else’s strategies like he’s studying for an exam.

The serious planning phase. No backing out now.
The accountability part was Carmen’s genius addition. We’re checking in monthly, no judgment but also no excuses. She made us all exchange phone numbers with Michelle and Alex since we don’t see them as often, and Sarah’s already started a group text thread about February check-ins.
Feels different this year. Less “I’m going to transform my entire life” and more “here’s what I actually want to work on.” Maybe that’s what happens when you plan with people who know you well enough to call you on your unrealistic expectations.
