Learning the ropes

👩‍⚕️ Elena

Week one of actually being responsible for keeping this place running and I’m discovering there’s a lot more to the campus rec center than just swiping student IDs.

Turns out equipment checkout involves actual inventory tracking, not just handing people basketballs. Who knew those clipboards were for something important?

The good news is my anatomy studying is paying off in weird ways – apparently knowing muscle groups helps when students ask which machines work what. The bad news is trying to squeeze study time between shifts is like playing Tetris with my brain.

Equipment inventory is harder than it looks.

Jake stopped by yesterday during my closing shift and found me reorganizing the entire equipment room because I couldn’t focus on memorizing cranial nerves.

Still figuring out how to make this work with my nursing prereqs, but at least I’m getting paid to be around all this fitness equipment. Maybe Carmen and I can finally try those resistance bands we’ve been talking about. If I can figure out how to check them out to myself without setting off some kind of inventory alarm.
