The planning tells the story
Been thinking all afternoon about how our anniversary weekend came together.

The planning tells the story
Not just the final result - though I’m still excited about the mountain town we picked - but the actual process of figuring it out together.
Turns out Jake and I are both planners, just different kinds. He wants every detail locked down weeks in advance, while I prefer leaving room for spontaneous discoveries. What surprised me was how easily we found the middle ground.

Notes from our planning sessions
When he started researching restaurants three weeks ahead, I didn’t feel suffocated. When I suggested keeping Saturday afternoon completely open, he didn’t panic about wasted time.
We ended up with this perfect hybrid itinerary - enough structure that Jake feels secure, enough flexibility that I feel free. The whole thing taught me something about how we work as a team. We don’t fight our different styles; we use them to make something better than either of us would create alone.
Sometimes the process reveals more than the outcome ever could.
