Reaching out
Fifteen minutes into writing what I thought would be a quick text to some classmates about maybe studying together this spring, and I’ve somehow turned it into a full organizational project.

Reaching out
Started simple enough - just wanted to reach out to a few people from my clinical rotations who seem like they’d be up for something more than just cramming before exams. But then I got thinking about how we could actually make it work with everyone’s schedules, and what topics we should focus on, and whether we should rotate hosting duties…
Jake caught me in full planning mode, color-coding potential meeting times like I’m coordinating a small army instead of just asking if people want to grab coffee and maybe quiz each other on pharmacology.

The face of someone trying to sound casual while texting ‘Hey, want to grab coffee and talk about spring semester?’
He just shook his head and went back to his own work, probably wondering how I turn every simple social interaction into a spreadsheet.
But honestly? After spending most of first semester just keeping my head above water academically, I’m ready to actually get to know some of these people I’ve been studying alongside. Time to hit send and see who’s interested in making spring semester a little less isolating.
