Project manager mode: activated
Laid out every piece of anniversary planning on the coffee table this afternoon to finally make some decisions. Color-coded sticky notes for different activities, printed maps with hiking trails marked, pros and cons lists for three different mountain towns, backup plans for the backup plans.

Project manager mode: activated
Jake walked through, took one look at my command center, and said “Babe, we’re going away for two days, not invading Normandy.” Which is probably fair. But also, have you SEEN how many variables go into a weekend trip? Weather contingencies! Restaurant reservations! Check-in times!
The funny thing is watching how differently we approach this stuff. I need every detail mapped out before I can relax enough to enjoy anything. He’s over there googling “cool mountain town” five minutes before we need to book something and somehow it always works out fine for him.

The system has taken on a life of its own.
Maybe the real anniversary gift is learning that my spreadsheet brain and his wing-it attitude actually balance each other out. Though I’m definitely keeping the backup restaurant list. Just in case.
