Care package casualties
Sarah’s mom sent a care package today, which basically turned us into five-year-olds fighting over the last piece of Halloween candy.

Care package casualties
The box was packed with homemade chocolate chip cookies, Korean snacks I can’t pronounce, and a letter that made Sarah tear up a little (though she’d deny it if you asked).
We’ve been splitting everything 50-50, but I’m pretty sure she’s been sneaking extra cookies when I’m not looking.

Worth fighting over
Fair enough – they’re her mom’s cookies and I’m just the lucky roommate who gets to benefit from Mrs. Chen’s amazing baking skills.
It’s funny how a simple care package can make you realize how much you miss home. Sarah called her mom afterward to say thank you, and I could hear the happiness in both their voices through the phone. Made me want to call my own family, even though I just talked to them yesterday. There’s something about being away at college that makes every little piece of home feel like treasure.
