Unexpected bridges

👩‍⚕️ Elena

Three drafts later and I’m still trying to figure out how to write about something I didn’t see coming.

Unexpected bridges

Unexpected bridges

When I started this blog last year, it was mostly just me rambling about training runs with Carmen and whatever nursing school drama was happening that week. I never thought anyone would actually read it, let alone reach out because of it.

But Sarah did exactly that after reading my post about the 10K training. And now here I am, staring at an invitation to co-lead a running group that could turn into something way bigger than anything I’ve done before.

Draft number three and counting.

Draft number three and counting.

It’s weird how putting your thoughts out there - even the messy, uncertain ones - can create these bridges to people and opportunities you never would have found otherwise.

I keep going back to what Sarah said at coffee yesterday about wanting to build something that lasts. She’s been running solo for years, but there’s something about the idea of creating a real community that has her excited in this way that’s totally contagious. And honestly? The thought of co-leading with someone who actually knows what they’re doing takes some of the pressure off.

Guess sometimes the best things happen when you’re brave enough to hit ‘publish’ on the posts that feel a little too honest.
