Worth every decibel
My ears are still ringing from tonight’s show at the Fox Theatre. Kings of Leon with The Whigs opening - absolutely incredible.

Worth every decibel
I’d been debating whether to splurge on tickets for weeks, but Carmen finally convinced me last Friday when she saw how I kept checking StubHub prices.
The opening act was this raw, gritty rock sound that had the whole crowd moving before the main event even started. But when Kings of Leon took the stage and opened with “Radioactive,” I remembered exactly why live music hits different than anything else. The bass line literally vibrated through my chest, and everyone around me was singing every word.

Concert memories collection growing
Jake texted halfway through asking if I was having fun, which was sweet but also impossible to answer over the noise. I’m home now sorting through ticket stubs and that paper wristband they gave us, trying to decide what goes in my concert memory box. These little pieces of cardboard somehow hold the whole experience - the anticipation in line, that moment when the lights dimmed, the guy next to me who knew every deep cut.
Already checking their tour dates for next year. Some things are just worth the splurge, especially when your anatomy textbooks can wait until tomorrow morning.
